BCC Commission 1

This was my first commission at Baltimore. It's Karolina Dean from Runaways fame. Using watercolors on her was perfect and I'm pretty happy how this turned out. Doing commissions is a little nerve-wracking since you have to turn it out in short period. Still I always say I work better under pressure and thrive in procrastination (which sometimes is not a good thing).

BCC Stuff - John Tyler Christopher

What brought me over to John's table was his amazing art nouveau inspired pieces. That by far has been my favorite art movement and he is amazing! He had this Gambit and Rogue print but unfortunately was sold out. Luckily, he will also be at NYCC and he said he would bring more prints of it! So I just had to get this Witchblade print. The amount of details he puts into his work is insane! I'm always appreciative when an artist is humble and takes the time to talk to you. John is approachable and a nice guy! I will definitely hunt him down in October :-D

BCC Stuff - Monica Gallagher

My sister brought me to Monica's table. She had purchased a wristband that had Dionysus on it. Other than Gambit, I'm also obsessed with greek mythology. Not only did I get myself a wristband but I also bought a print and her books "Gods & Undergrads" which you can read online as well. Her style has truly developed over time and the combination of greek gods in modern day reality mesh well in her books. The series is still ongoing and can't wait till the third book is available! Check her site: http://eatyourlipstick.com/

BCC Stuff - Rich Bernatovech

It's no secret, I'm a big Gambit fan so of course I had to get this! Rich is one of the hardest working people I know. He's currently working on multiple projects and still finds time to draw and color these amazing headshots. He's been keeping up with it even after completing the Sketch-A-Day experiment from 2009. To keep up with his projects make sure to check out his blog at: http://drumfishproductions.blogspot.com/ or his art page: http://ricber.deviantart.com

BCC Aftermath

I had such a great time at the convention this weekend and learned a lot from it. Definitely will have to be a little bit more prepared next time and show a lot more artwork.

The best part about these conventions for me is absorbing and taking everything in the show has to offer and seeing each person's unique style and craft. It's like I'm a giant sponge!!!! It's also great to be able to walk up to someone and hear what they have to say. It's also especially refreshing when they are super nice and humble about it (there are some that don't even look at you..). But hey, everyone is there to appreciate the awesomeness of comic book art and it's such a varied medium now compiled of different styles whether it's more manga-influenced, traditional, cartoony, etc. It is neverending.

I'll be posting some of the stuff I did and commissions I got as well in upcoming posts. Shout outs to all that came out to support me this weekend as well. For many, I know it was your first time and it truly meant a lot for me. So thanks and hope you enjoyed it as well!

Baltimore Comic Con 2011

So big update!!!! I will be at Baltimore Comic Con this weekend! Nope, not as a spectator or Green Lantern, but I actually got a table and will be sharing with the extremely talented Rey Arzeno. We will be at Artist Alley at table A90 so stop by and say hello :-).

Super excited to be doing this since it will be my first time holding down a table. I have mad love for Baltimore since it's where I went to school and the state I've lived in for many years.
